This original work from Peter Michalove was initially written to provide the Russian collector and postal historian with a cartographic resource of maps and listings of placenames of postal routes. Peter attempts to tell the story of Russian maps in three parts: Part One provides a history of the classic cartography of Russia; Part Two deals with the cartographic resources available for the study of Imperial Russian postal history from the mid-18th century through 1917. Part Three provides details of the Soviet period until its collapse in 1991. This work consist of over 130 pages of cartographic details.
