Rossica Identification Services (RIS)
The Rossica Identification Service (RIS) can help identify a stamp, a cover or any other philatelic item related to Russian philately or erinnophilia. We can help you with
identifying cancels, town names, translation from Russian to English of cancellations, addresses, etc. Please note that it is not an official opinion of authenticity.
* This service is FREE to Rossica Society members.
* Non-members must pay a $5.00 fee per item submitted.
Submission Guidelines
Members
- Scan your stamps or other items in .jpg .png, format with at least 300 dpi resolution. PDF format is acceptable too.
Please remember - the higher quality of the scan, the better job the RIS team can do for you. If the item is located on the Internet, you can copy a link (url)
to the image of the item and include it in the email.
- Email a scan(s) or link (url) and a question on what exactly you trying to identify to or what is unclear about particular item
along with attached a PayPal payment confirmation (only for non-members) to [email protected]
- Once your items are submitted, within a week or less (on average) you will receive an email with a identification results.
Non-members
Rossica is pleased to provide this service to non-members.

- Pay an appropriate fee to [email protected] and note "RIS payment" in the title of a Paypal payment, or you can use the PayPal button (the shopping cart below) to pay
for this service
